Margretta Long

Doll Face

Grandma Long Ingles hardly looks even real in this picture. What big eyes and such an innocent look. Who'd of thought so many people would come from her genes and from her influences in life. I was greatly affected and am still finding things I've learned

Marge, Kenny, Everett Long

My Grandmother - always laughing, having fun, doing and dressing however she liked. She would have been a great buddy. When she died, my grandfather told me that he had "lost the best friend I ever had." He died like only a month later. He didn't have to

Relaxed

This is maybe my favorite picture of my Grandmother. She looks like everything a woman was NOT supposed to look like in this day - barefoot, short hair, overall ! And she looks like she could not care less. She would've been a hippy in my day. And I didn'

River Swim

On the back of this photo, Grandma wrote, "That's me in the Mississippi." She had a flair for sure. My mother, and now I've noticed my daughter, also has that same dramatic flair about doing things.

Love

Good to see love like that. This too has somehow been handed down through the generations. Thank you granny and grampa ! I love you each and I love you both.

Happy

I noticed in all Grandma's early pictures, she always seemed carefree and happy - always smiling! Maybe getting older, having kids, living through the depression and marriage has its toll. She never seemed unhappy to me. But never really happy either.

Carefree

She looks a lot like Becky, my cousin, in this picture.

Flapper

Grandma was a flapper in her day. That means she must've been pretty wild and carefree. I don't doubt that. This was the roaring twenties. My mother also had her wild days, but only later. It must be i the blood, because I keep seeing it in every generati

Young Momma Flapper

This is about 1927 and that's Roy Lee sitting on the sidestep. Classic 20's look!

Three cord knot - not easily broken.

I like granny in this picture. She looks so natural and just herself. In later years when they became Pentecostal, her and her girls had to wear their hair in religious braids or up in a bun. I only saw her once or twice as a child with her hair down. It

Two Grandkids

I remember Granny had a bad leg for a while and came to stay at our house on Mesa Dr. in Peoria. I remember her on this mom day and night cause she had a bad sore like infection on her leg. She was very quite, introverted, thinking person. I had the feeli
